Gateway Of India

The early bird...

...catches the worm.

Work Space Mumbai: Early Birds.

Work dragged me out of bed and to the Gateway Of India last Sunday morning at 6am. Dawn was yet to colour the sky at that time but the newly cleared, paved 'maidan' in front of Gateway of India was filled with tourists. And the regular bunch of photographers with their instant printers were busy at work. Except for the morning sounds and missing background roar of traffic, it could have been anytime in the evening.

This city never sleeps, even on a Sunday morning.

(Note: these pictures were clicked after I had enough light to click.)

Here's a series of pictures of the Gateway photographers at work during monsoons.

Sundays are busy days for the chaps at the gateway! the crowds start arriving surprisingly early, as we found out when we went to alibag by the ferry... but it is really beautiful that early in the morning, and as usual, you have captured it beautifully!

"Dawn was yet to colour the sky" - but from your pictures it seems dawn has indeed coloured the sky and it's a beautiful mellow peach! :)

These pictures were clicked long after I reached there and the sun was up. Will correct.

The bloke should be getting a good enough backdrop of the Taj behind :-)

Ha ha! You got a funny pose of that guy. But those who click are themselves shot with weird alignment of the limbs at crucial moment. Part of the trade. :-)

Thanks.
Deb: I was in a similar position as the photographer too I guess!
