AK Naik Marg, Fort

The Cafe Excelsior Font.

It must be one of Old Mumbai's favourite restaurants. And if you ever wondered about who painted the menu that decorates the walls of Cafe Excelsior in Fort Mumbai, it is none other than the owner himself. His name is Adi Mazuri and he studied at the JJ School of Art, a short distance from where his classic Irani restaurant started in 1919 stands.

Also in the vicinity: The Magazine Galli. Click here to have a look.

Was looking closely at the font style he has painted - could not stop myself from thinking immediately about the Mario Miranda flourishes in his paintings. Crazy thought, I know, but cool snaps as usual, mate!

Soni,
Yes. Very Mario Miranda style. Come to think of it, Mari Miranda's copy/text are the best written ones for any Indian cartoonists.

Curry, GB. Just looking at the menu can make you drool. Let me add some links to food bloggers who have described the food too.
