Talaash! Which part of Mumbai do you want to see?

Shivaji Chowk, Vashi

Mood of the city. Navi Mumbai.

Govindas are ruling the streets of Navi Mumbai, as they always do at this time of the year. There are Govindas from all over Mumbai and some from Raigad and beyond who are raiding the Dahi Handis here. Some of them are on their way to Pune where the pots are raised later in the evening and the builder/politican funded pots with cash are pretty creamy there too, like in Navi Mumbai.

However, every year has something new and it is Anna Hazare. Raiding the not so clean Dahi Gandis is OK for quite a few Gandhi Topis with "I Am Anna" among the Govindas. And at Shivaji Chowk, the main node of Vashi, families and people of all faith and class are crowding around the Anna protesters who are camping here since 16th. Today is the day, it has the most crowd.

Not the official line but hand-written by this individual.

The people thought we were powerless... until.

Loser with a big L. They lost a good opportunity to draft a good Bill. Too late now?

Shoot all politicians. Maybe after raiding their Handis.

And brother, this is supposed to be a non-violent protest. Where the only violence is the threat of suicide by an old man.

As for land of the pure. The last time some Indians asked and got it, we got Pakistan, the land of the pure.

For Anna, the JanLokPal is an extension of the RTI. However, no one protests when RTI activists are killed by builders and politicians almost every day, across India.

And finally, it's a feast at the protest site. The friendly neighbourhood Sardarji and his sons are serving some yummy Bread Bhaaji.
