Talaash! Which part of Mumbai do you want to see?

Govandi

The easier pursuit of happiness.

There's a lot of money to be made by helping the Aam Aadhmi cope with his or her life. From the high command downwards to the kadak lakshmi with the crack of his whip, everyone is behind the chillar in the poor fellow's pocket.

But the guys who do the best job at making us organisms happy are the godmen and women. Outside the Govandi station on the east side was a 'standee' with an image of an old woman in a holy colour and a group of people with a trance look in their eyes clapping hands and praying to her. A couple of other were distributing leaflets to people coming back from work asking them to join their congregation.

Earlier it used to be the Art Of Living, this is another popular one called Shajayoga. I thought that it meant " "Easy Yoga" but  their website has this to say:

“Sahaja” in Sanskrit means spontaneous and also born with,” Yoga” means union with God. The potential to the spiritual awakening and ascent is inborn in every human being. This potential is possible to be actualized through a unique living process of Sahaja Yoga. This unique discovery has been done by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi (in 1970).The process of Sahaja Yoga is spontaneous and natural. It is a technique to awaken theKundalini Shakti which lies in the sleeping state at the base of the spine (sacrum bone) of each human being. The process of awakening this Kundalini (Self Realisation) is a spontaneous and joy giving process, quite contrary to the widespread misinformation about it.

It's a free country and everybody is allowed to help others and make a living out of delivering a service. Shubh labh to everyone who supply fresh version of  our opiate to make us smile through our miserable lives.
