Work Space Mumbai: Broom Makers.
The neighbourhood around Gaikwad Chowk in Deonar, near the slaughter house is filled with coconut trees. Was it part of an old grove, I do not know. But there are enough trees and leaves dropping from the coconut trees to support a tiny scale broom-making industry for old people, helping them to earn an income, all year round.
