SURVIVING FOOTPATH BOOK SHOPS: MOGHAL MASJID (IMAMBADA)
Opposite the beautiful and peaceful Moghal Masjid in the heart of bustling Umarkhadi/Mohammed Ali Road area of Mumbai is a little footpath bookshop for the visitors to the mosque and the market. While we were there, the owner of the shop was missing. He had probably gone for an errand during the lean period or was taking a nap in the peaceful garden inside the mosque.
If you want a quiet place to sit, sleep, read, sketch or chat with friends, I recommend the garden in the mosque. It is open to all (note: I didn’t see any women , so please check).
