Groups trying to raise awareness about natural wealth of Mumbai - the forests, wetlands, coast, etc. came together on Marine Drive on 30th March 2019 ahead of the elections to make their voices heard.
They formed a human chain.
Truth: Mumbaikars don't care about the environment
The election model code of conduct is in force and truth be told, Mumbaikars don't really care about the environment. We strictly see the place as something to use commercially. Also, anyone talking for the environment is seen as against the government in power and the politicians, builders have the support of the people of Mumbai.
When the water in the their taps run dry or when aftereffects of rampant ecological destruction troubles them, we people of Mumbai will find someone else to blame except our own ignorance.
Immigrants, neighbouring country, neighbour, the poor, etc. etc.
Also Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
