Talaash! Which part of Mumbai do you want to see?

Banganga

August 3rd, 13:41 Hrs, High Tide 4.93 metres

A girl from throws a shoe the waves tossed up back at the sea. It's a game the kids living here on the tide line play, to see if it comes back with the next wave.

A sea wall protects the homes that line the rocky coast near Banganga, not too far from the Raj Bhavan of Maharahtra. Until a few years back, the homes would be flooded every monsoon and the residents would be moved to a local school or shelter for a few months. Not anymore. Many homes do get flooded when the tide is high but the situation is not as serious as before.

It is an other matter that you are living with a raging sea for many hours a day and it sprays brine all the time.
