The Chikladevi Temple has a lotus tower because lotuses are supposed to bloom in mud or muddy waters. According to historian Raamesh of Thane, a person had a dream that the idol of the goddess will be found in the marshy/mud and it was. The idol is placed inside a depression in this temple.
